Add Your Family
We encourage everyone to submit any information they may have pertaining to the Niedermeyer and variant spelling surnames. Please consult the project overview section to learn about what information we are collecting. Examples of materials that will enhance this project are:
-
GEDCOM files - This is the easiest way to submit your genealogical data to us. Most genealogy software programs support the option to export data in this format. Simply export your entire database and attach it to an email. Include a description of any restrictions you would like placed on the data such as not publishing any living individual's vital information. You can use commercial software or freeware like PAF.
- Documents - Some of the best items are copies of documents. This could be anything from legal documents like birth certificates to memorabilia like journals. An effort should be made to create the best quality copy possible. Digital copies should be scanned at the highest resolution available to the submitter. We will archive these documents in the appropriate format. Usually we can reimburse you for duplication fees if you contact us first.
- Photographs - Usually original photos are retained by submitters. However, we readily accept them and archive them appropriately. Copies of photos are welcomed and usually take the form of a Xerox or digital copy. If you submit a digital copy, please scan it at the highest resolution available to you. We are interested in most photographs but are particularly seeking photos of the following stages of a person's life: baby, child, graduation, marriage, families, elderly.
If you have genealogical information related to this project, we do provide the service of entering it into a genealogy database. Just send us your information in whatever format you have it in now and we will return your information and include a GEDCOM file for you to use with any popular genealogy software program.
We also provide the service of scanning in photographs related to this project and archiving them on CD's. Just send us your original photographs and we will return them with a CD containing digital copies of your photos.
